Education is integral to developing people and uplifting society, two of the key standards upheld by the Tsebo Group’s purpose. With this in mind, and as part of its school’s capability, Tsebo Catering, through its Fedics business, has chosen to sponsor a bursary for a child at King Edward School (KES).
The worthy recipient of the bursary is Lethabo Radebe, an inspirational Grade 8 learner and keen sportsman with a place on KES’s hockey, rugby and cricket first teams. Lethabo dreams of becoming Head Boy and aims to be among the top students for AP maths. His ultimate goal is to study and play rugby at university and eventually for the REDS. With an academic average of 79%, Lethabo is set to achieve his goals and is a source of pride for his mother, a chronic thrombosis sufferer who is currently unemployed.
By providing education and skills to members of the communities in which it operates Tsebo hopes to nourish minds for greater opportunity and better lives.
“We have an important role to play in improving the lives of our communities, and we provide opportunities for their success in the future, as captured in our Tsebo purpose statement: WE DEVELOP PEOPLE, TO SERVE PEOPLE, TO UPLIFT SOCIETY,” said Eelco Camminga, Managing Director, Fedics.
