Thorburn’s HR Director elected to head position in SA security association

Thorburn Security Solutions is proud to announce that Franz Verhufen, HR Director, has been elected as National Chairperson of the Security Association of South Africa (SASA).

This, together with the individual seat and Exco position Verhufen holds on the NBCPSS (National Bargaining Council for the Private Security Sector), bolsters Thorburn’s standing in helping to define compliance, legislation, commercial and other labour legislation standards in the South African security industry

With over 25 years’ experience, with five years in operations and 20 in HR, as well as a proven track record in high-level industry wage negotiations, Verhufen is well placed as Chairperson of SASA. Not only is it the largest employer organisation in the security sector with approximately 48 Gold Member employer affiliates representing about 140,000 security officers, it is also the major employer organisation within the NBCPSS.

The NBCPSS is responsible for regulating, and writing into law, the terms, conditions and obligations of employers to ensure compliance within the sector.
