Tsebo 50th : where did it all begin?



Did you know that the Tsebo we know and love evolved from a catering contract back in 1971? Fedics pioneered the contract catering industry in South Africa and, as the brand developed, was responsible for many firsts in the company as well as the country.

For example, in 1982, Fedics implemented its first affirmative action programme – indicative of its commitment to progressive management and transformation, and by 1984 Fedics launched the Institute for Hospitality Studies (HIS), which grew into Tsebo’s in-house Learning and Development Academy.

Meanwhile, Tsebo, as we know it, was evolving into a large-scale integrated workplace management solutions company by increasing its scope of services and its footprint across Africa.

Now, 50 years later, Fedics is leading the way again with the launch of new fresh-faced branding that propels the much-loved contract caterer into the next half-century with a streamlined business model and segmented solutions that speaks to its commitment to innovation, service excellence and good food, prepared with passion.
